The author of, ‘The Over Bridge,’ ‘Broken Rock,’ ‘Don’t Trust Bees’ and the soon-to-be-released Ravensmouth. Deep Arya is a self-professed nerd, an enthusiast of comics and has a deep love for canines. A private individual, he is an avid dog owner and spends most of his spare time with his furry companions…and his loving wife.
Influenced by authors and storytellers such as H.G. Wells, Stephen King; Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, C.S. Lewis; Joe Hill, Neil Gaiman and Mike Mignola, among many other amazing talented writers. Where their stories were enriched with strange settings, quirky characters and at times, unpredictability.
Deep Arya is also a huge fan of these directors such as, Guillermo del Toro, Tim Burton, Wes Craven, John Carpenter and Zack Snyder for their immersed plots and aesthetic visual storytelling. Deep Arya understands that the setting has to be its own character to truly capture the world, to a point where the location or locations needs to interact with the characters to push the plot forward.
A fan of classic horror and science-fiction films, Deep Arya is devoted to the old black and white horror and science fiction genre. Obsessed with creature features around giant bugs, kaiju monsters and obscure aliens, these films played a pivotal role in shaping his love for the classics.
Deep Arya mixes his genre with atmospheric horror, science-fiction, weird fiction, and mystery. Dedicated in the idea of the atmosphere being the main character, but also the driving force for both narrative and setting.
